Write The Vision, Make It Plain

Lessons from the 64 squares...

"They say an elephant never forgets. Well, you are not an elephant. Take notes, constantly."-Aaron Kobler

In chess, players use a form of shorthand called algebraic notation to track the moves of games they play. This helps in instances where a game gets interrupted or a board gets disturbed. It is also beneficial for studying games long after they have been played. There are huge advantages for players who are able to review games of grandmasters from 50, 100, 200 years ago. The lessons which have been passed down are innumerable and priceless.

In life, we document things to give explanation, to tell a story. But stories aren't primarily for the storyteller, they are for the reader. Write out your business plan so the young entrepreneur coming behind you has a blueprint. Jot down your concepts and ideas so the young engineer can build upon them and make them greater. Tell your story, the good and the bad, so your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren know who they are and where they came from. The test of greatness is not who will you inspire today, but who will you inspire long after you are gone? #NOTG #ChessInRealLife #YourStoryMatters #WriteTheVision #ItsBiggerThanYou
