Time Won't Give Me Time

Lessons from the 64 squares...

"It’s not that we have little time, but more that we waste a good deal of it."-Seneca

Chess is a game of strategic planning and critical thinking. Games have gone hours, even days before a move gets made. But there are variants of chess where clocks are used. These chess clocks give each player a limited amount of time to make their moves. So games can be lost or won not only via checkmate, but also by not efficiently using one's time.

Strategy and planning are important aspects of leadership and successful ventures. But too often, even those with great ideas and insight can suffer from "the paralysis of analysis". Contemplating over and over how great something COULD be does nothing more than deplete the time on our proverbial chess clocks. Then we look up, our clocks are on 0:00, and our window of opportunity has closed.

Act. Make a move. Do something! Thoughts bring the ideas, action brings the manifestation. Use your time wisely. Map out your plan. But most importantly, implement and execute. It may not play out exactly as you imagined, but stepping forward beats backwards thinking any day. #NOTG #ChessInRealLife #Leadership #WatchYourTime #DoSomething #Efficient #Effective #Action
