Lessons from the 64 squares...
"Two of the hardest decisions in life: the patience to wait for the right moment and the courage to accept whatever you encounter."- Paulo Coelho
The newest trend in chess are "speed" games. Players are put on a clock and each one has a limited amount of time to make all their moves. These games can be as short as one minute. Conversely, we play a game with our students called "Gone in 60 Seconds" that requires the player to wait 60 seconds before they can make any move at all. It is a difficult game to master for most players because they always know the move they want to make. But the longer they play, the more they recognize that waiting a little longer to analyze the board can make the difference between a good move...and a GREAT one.
Take some time to slow down. With the urge to produce everything faster and be "the first", slowing down has become the art of those mastering life and the mark of great leaders. "Reacting" means something is controlling you. "Responding" is you controlling it. Practice patience, focus on thinking more deliberately and where others see despair, you will begin to see solutions. #NOTG #ChessInRealLife #Patience #Meditate #SlowDown #Breathe #SeeItAllMoreClearly #TakeYourTime
