Lessons from the 64 squares...
"You can't win unless you learn how to lose."- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Every chess game begins and ends the same way, with the shaking of hands. Respect is key in chess. If your opponent didn't see where you moved, you show them...even if it gives them an advantage. Getting checkmated can be frustrating, but you never take that frustration out on your opponent. Taking an "L" isn't the issue. It's HOW you take it that makes the difference.
In the attached pic, you cannot tell which fighter was the winner of this MMA match. At the end of this battle, both are showing an immense amount of humility and mutual respect. Such is life. We may not agree with every manager, co-worker, teacher, client, or spouse. And in a battle of wills, you may sometimes come out with an L. Will you pout, scream, and throw tantrums because things didn't go your way? Or will you acknowledge their perspective, learn from the situation, and respond with grace and dignity? The respect you earn from the latter will carry you so much further. The choice is yours. #NOTG #ChessInRealLife #Respect #Perspective #LeadersAlwaysLearn #WarriorMindset
