Lessons from the 64 squares...
"If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."-African proverb
The pawn is the smallest piece on the board and is often looked at, by newer players, as expendable. One couldn't be more wrong. Alone, pawns may not be the most dominant piece like a queen. They cannot hop around like the knight. And they cannot rapidly travel across the board like bishops or rooks. But together, much like the Siafu (African ant), pawns become a most powerful force.
Do not neglect the importance of the small things, the impact of the minuscule, the strength of the little guy or the value of the least of us. Janitors matter as much as CEOs. Respect those in the mailroom as much as those in the boardroom. Like the Siafu and the pawn, we do not perform at our best alone. We need a team willing to do the grunt work so the goal can be accomplished. Celebrate those "pawns" in your world. Because, much like chess, once it gets where it's going, that same pawn could become your queen. #NOTG #ChessInRealLife #Chess #ItsTheLittleThings #FartherTogether #Leadership #Goals #WarriorMindset
