The power of 2 is very evident in the game of chess. It is rare that a single piece performs a checkmate. Pieces are stronger when they work together, even more so when they work in pairs. One of the first basic lessons is to connect your two rooks. Great chess works cite innumerable combinations with bishop pairs. Two knights on a crowded board are virtually unstoppable. And checkmate patterns with the queen and any other piece are almost infinite.

Be it husband and wife, brother and sister, bride and maid-of-honor, pilot and navigator, the power of working in tandem is evident all around us. None of us is an island and we do not get through this world alone. Having that special bond with someone who knows your move before you make it is priceless. These bonds are forged through years of pain and struggle. But that is what makes them unbreakable. So much so that the two certainly seem to become one, operating as a single entity. When that happens, an unstoppable force has been created and the "checkmate" over your problems is only a few moves away.
