Better Than You Found It.

At the end of every class I teach, every private lesson I give, and every workshop I lead, (regardless of how we started) I have the players reset the board like they are going to play a new game. This helps in making sure all of the pieces are there and not lost on the floor somewhere. More importantly, it teaches a subtle lesson: always leave a situation better than you found it.

It's life. We are going to mess up. The key is to not wallow in your "bad moves". But continue to focus on making each follow up move better than the one before it. Got a C on your exam? Push for a B next time. Missed a sales target? Increasing your sales by one is a step forward. Even if they are very small steps, making "your next move your best move" is a great way to step into victory.
