Lessons from the 64 squares...
"The wise respond. The foolish react. The wise think and then act. The foolish act and then regret."-RVM
Putting pressure on an opponent in chess reveals a lot about how they play. Younger players, especially, do not like to constantly be harassed. When you can get them to react to what you're doing, they are prone to mistakes. They play too fast and don't think about the consequences of their moves. This leads to frustrations. And frustrations lead to checkmate.
Never allow anyone or anything to push you into reacting. Now, it's okay to RESPOND. Matter of fact, that's intelligent. But responding means you are in control, of your emotions, your mindset, your thoughts, your words and your actions. Reacting is giving up that control. Refuse to be a puppet. Remember: you do not have to RSVP to every fight you're invited to. Nothing wrong with a good battle. Just make sure you're fighting on your terms. #NOTG #ChessInRealLife #RespondingVsReacting #BeWise #ControlTheCenter #WarriorMindset
